By Lim Zheng Yang Do’s Do choose a location carefully: Beware of locations outside of a physician’s office such as a clinic, salon, mall, someone’s home or a hotel room. These locations usually have no emergency care facilities in place should something go wrong. Do make sure the doctor is on site: Most cosmetic procedures should be performed by a physician who is board certified in dermatology or another specialty with equivalent training and experience. Make sure that the supervising physician is on-site and immediately available to respond to any questions or problems that may occur while the procedure is being performed. Do check credentials: Don’t be misguided by diplomas hanging on the walls. Check with your state medical board to see if any complaints have been filed against this person. Do discuss pain management options to avoid the risks associated with general anesthesia. Don’ts Don’t rely on price: If you are receiving a procedure that costs significantly less than usual, you can assume you are not receiving the best treatment. Don’t be afraid to ask questions: Ask is the treatment right for you? Is this laser, device or technique appropriate for your skin type? Has the physician performed this procedure before on the part of the body you’re having it done? Ask them to review your medical history. Don’t go through with a procedure if they can’t prove a trained physician is accessible. Don’t be afraid to walk away: If it doesn’t feel right then find a more reputable location/office. Lim Zheng Yang used to suffer from acne and has spent countless hours researching on this skin condition and the best ways to treat it. By Nigel Paquin When summer approaches bringing those summer doldrums a small silver fish called the kissu makes themselves commonly found around beaches, harbors and bays. Since Japan is simply covered with these types of environments fishing for these oishi fish is a great way to spend a day on the beach with family and friends. Kids can easily master how to catch some and it will certainly bring a smile to their faces. As we all know young ones are easily bored if there are no fish being caught and they will soon develop a non interest in sport fishing. So this type of action is great for their self confidence……..remember it’s not the size that counts for kids it’s just the fun in catching them. Lets get started with some key information you are going to need to start your kissu fishing. The bait is very simple, worms or as we say in Japanese gokae. The fishing rod can be as simple as you make it. I myself just use a short 7 foot bass rod that is usually used for boat sea bass fishing. Some anglers in Japan like using 10 foot plus rods but I much prefer the light hit and the battle that will persist. My reel of choice is a Shimano NAVI 4000 series. Now you may wonder why I use such a large reel. The reason is simple, the spool is larger so I can make longer casts. If you use a smaller reel you will not be able to spool off large amounts line as quickly as a larger one. Keep your main line nice and light with some braided line of 10-15lbs. For the leaders I use store bought ones that are specially designed for this type of fishing. Depending on what type of area you will be fishing you might have to experiment with different types of packaged leaders. In Japanese harisu means leader so choosing the right strength is important. Using a lower numbered one like a 1 or 2 could result in many break offs from puffer fish. (god I hate those things) Puffer fish are your enemy at times because they can bite off your hook or leader in one fowl swoop. Many times you will have the choice between a leader with 2-5 hooks, it’s really just personal so choose one that best fits your style. Also in the stores in can be quite confusing, so make sure to just look for the package that has a kissu on it. Do not forget to always ask for help when choosing the right leader package…..it has always worked for me. Next you are going to need to add a weight and a metal wire rig. For the weight I have become very fond of #8’s. They seem to get out far and do not put too much stress on the rod making it perfect for feeling those bites. For the rigs you can choose just about any size but do not go too long. For technique it is actually quite simple. Let your set up hit the bottom of the beach or sand and slowly reel in. Place your rod on a side ways position ready to slightly twitch when you feel a hit. Try to stay clear of rocky or points that constantly snag you up, if you do run into these problem areas move onto somewhere else where you will not loose your gear every cast. Some x-tra things that are important are tripod rod holders, a pair of scissors to cut off the heads of those nasty worms, folding plastic buckets, a fish towel, a sun hat, suntan lotion, chairs, a sun umbrella for the wife to keep her cool and happy, a cooler which can filled with ice for 100 yen at just about any fishing port, of course a few beers with the cell phone turned onto manner mode…..and a crazy friend to keep you entertained! By [http://ezinearticles.com/?expert=Philip_Christie] Philip Christie Over the last 26 years I have had the privilege of examining hundreds of thousands of mouths as have most full-time clinical dentists. It is not always viewed as a privilege, however. I have often been so overwhelmed by the number of cases placed on my day list that I wondered if I could manage to get through the day. It sometimes seemed that there was an endless queue of people with an endless queue of teeth and endless problems. What was worse, I found that problems solved did not stay solved but recurred again and again in the same mouth. Sometimes the cycle of recurrence was long and we got many years out of it, other times the cycles were upsettingly short and treatment was disappointingly inadequate. No matter how I kept up to date and whatever innovation I employed, the underlying pattern did not really change. I truly desired to understand the repeating patterns of disease that I was observing. The gentle light of understanding slowly began to clear away the confusion and fogginess and I began to appreciate what was behind the repeating patterns. Looking in a person’s mouth is actually like looking into the pages of a book. The book depicts and accurately reflects the story of the life whose mouth it is. It is truly the life’s reflection. It is truly the mirror! This was my inspiration for the poetic expression which explains all in few words. The Mouth is the Mirror of the Body Look carefully into the Mirror of your Mouth And the Reflections you behold Will show you things about yourself That without your Mirrors gentle help Would remain hidden and untold . The gentle light of Understanding Allows you to appreciate The simple truth of patterns and rhymes Ghosts of Guilt from childhood times That in Forgiveness dissipate Now can the dark clouds of shame and sadness Give way to a healed bright mind in gladness. My name is Philip Christie. I qualified as a Dental Surgeon at Trinity College, Dublin (Ireland) in 1980 and completed a Masters Programme in Dental Science, again at Trinity College Dublin, by research in 1995. I have been working full time in dental care either in general practice or specialist practice since qualification. My main interest is and always has been prevention. My real qualification is 23 years experience in dealing with real people and their problems face to face, as a clinical practitioner. I am the author of Something To Chew On: A Mouth Map To Health. It is a Health Manual with a difference. Different because it is designed for the future and for success. It is different because it gives the power back where it belongs, to the persons own self. Different because it prevents problems at source and saves on treatment and cost! By O Quinn A clean and organized home doesnt have to take up all of your time. Follow these four top tips to help you keep things on track. 1. Keep a family messaging area. A place where messages can be taken and left. Where all mail is sorted and assigned. Have this place near the phone and include a memo pad and pens and pencils. Post a magnetic wipe off board with a cork section for posting notes. A calendar listing all family appointments and to dos is a great idea also. 2. Dont try and keep the home together by yourself. Train your children to help in cleaning and organizing chores and include your spouse. Share the load. And you get more flies with honey than with vinegar. 3. If there is a large job to tackle get the whole household involved. It might even be fun. Such as cleaning out the basement or attic. Painting a room. Have a contest such as who can gather the most leaves or give out rewards at the completion of your big project. 4. Spread out your cleaning. Dont wait until Saturday to try and clean the whole home. And dont try to do all they laundry, vacuum and dusting at once. Break it up. Touch up the bathroom in a few minutes each day and spend 15 minutes once a week deep cleaning it. Organize a drawer a day instead of tackling all the drawers in your kitchen at once. With just a little organization and planning you can have your homemaking more organized. By Jenny May Clermont I know I’ve said it a million times, “you are what you eat”, the type of fuel (food) you put in your body determines what you get back from your body. Eat crap and you’ll feel lethargic, depressed, moody, unmotivated, angry, and the list goes on and on. But eat clean healthy, whole foods and you’ll feel vibrant, energetic, motivated, positive, happy, fulfilled and this list goes on and on as well. Eating well not only results in a smaller waistline but it is literally life changing. And it’s simply a matter of choice! So what’s stopping you? Why do you opt for the Snickers bar instead of those delicious fresh strawberries (or whatever your favorite fruit or veggie is) you packed for lunch? Maybe, just maybe it’s your mind. Just like you depend on food for fuel to get you through the day, you depend on your thoughts and thought processes just as much. And many of your thoughts stem from underlying beliefs that you have stored away somewhere in that mass called a brain - it may even be on a subconscious level. More often then not, it’s these beliefs that affect whether you succeed with your fat loss goals or any goal in general. And it’s these beliefs that determine the choices you make on a daily basis. To find out if your thoughts are hindering your fat loss efforts you have to start listening to your “self talk”. What’s self talk? It’s all those little comments you make in your head, under your breath, in response to a comment or a mistake. You know the ones - you make a simple mistake and you immediately think or mumble “How can I be so stupid?”, it’s all those negative little remarks you make to yourself throughout the day. How does self talk affect your fat loss? All those little negative comments stem from an underlying belief about yourself. Maybe you feel you have to be perfect, maybe you have some underlying guilt and feel you don’t deserve successful fat loss, maybe you just haven’t taken the time to love and appreciate who you are and how blessed you are. I can’t list all the underlying beliefs you might have about yourself - but I can tell you that to be successful in your fat loss efforts and your life, you need to identify them. These underlying beliefs can be incredibly damaging to your fat loss efforts on a subconscious level - they will actually cause you to sabotage your efforts by directing your choices - this is why you opt for that snickers bar or bag of chips instead of the fresh fruit or veggies you brought in. It may also be some of the reason why you never have the time to pack a lunch. Whenever you make a choice that works against your fat loss efforts and then you ask yourself “why did I do that?” — You now know why! How do you identify your underlying beliefs? You start by asking why? Why did I just say that? Why do I think that way? Why did I just eat that? Why? Why? Why? Until you find the answer. I have to warn you it’s not always easy. But once you identify that underlying belief you need to address where it came from and then create a new belief — a positive belief. This simple awareness is often enough to switch those negative thoughts and comments about yourself to positive ones and then the choices you make will start to fall in line with your goals. You’ll start preparing your meals, you’ll stop skipping breakfast, and the temptation for the unhealthy crap food will disappear! And this happens because you’ll no longer be dependent on the instant gratification found in refined sugars and simple carbs to make you feel good. You’ll no longer need to stress eat - the body will still crave it because it’s a biochemical response (read Is Estrogen Really Making Your Belly FAT? to learn more), but your thoughts will be strong and centered so you can choose to walk off that stress instead of eat. The gratification of transforming your body and your life into what’s you’ve always desired will be the driving factor behind your better choices, instead of some nonsense belief you had stored away from who knows when. Don’t believe me? Just Try it! 1. Start listening to your self talk - count the number of negative versus positive remarks towards yourself. 2. Go through the “why” process till you get the answer. 3.Turn the self talk around and focus more on the positive instead of the negative. 4. The rest will just take care of itself - guaranteed! Now the hard part is to maintain this outlook and not fall back into your old thinking patterns. It’s much like rebuilding that muscle tone you lost, you just have to be consistent until you start to reap the rewards. If you find you fall back into your old thought patterns, don’t beat yourself up, just come back to this article and start over again, just like eating healthy and incorporating exercise. Go for it - stop making excuses and make your fat loss a reality!! By Nancy Wasson Complacency is involved in the demise of numerous marriages every year. It can drain the excitement, passion, and energy out of a marriage. Spouses who are complacent are not motivated to do things differently or work on making personal changes. They are often blissfully unaware of the dangers of taking a partner for granted and assuming all is fine when its not. Complacent spouses also lack the ability to know when its important to take a stand and draw a line in the sand. They have settled for the status quo and dont want to rock the boat or make waves. Many times, they look for the easy way out that involves the least possible expenditure of time or energy. A former client Ill call Edwin was a complacent spouse. His wife periodically screamed and threw fits about insignificant things while he tried to tune her out. His goal wasnt to tackle the problems in the marriage head on. His goal was for his wife to finish her tirade as quickly as possible so he could get back to his TV program. He accepted the situation instead of working to change it. Allie was also a complacent spouse. She kept reassuring her husband that no matter what he did, she would always be there for him and that she would never leave him. Even though her marriage was unrewarding, she put up with the lack of communication and intimacy rather than take the risk to initiate change. Thus, she reinforced her husbands habitual neglect of her emotional needs and settled for a marriage that was unsatisfying to her. Authors John C. Friel, Ph.D., and Linda D. Friel, M.A. in the book they co-authored titled The Seven Best Things (Happy) Couples Do write about the importance of being willing to divorce. According to the Friels, many not-so-happy couples have been misled into thinking that If you love each other, youll never think about ending it. They write, If youre too dependent on your partner to ever go to the brink, your relationship is in danger of becoming stagnant and dead, which will push you over the brink. The fear of taking a stand can indicate that youre feeling powerless and helpless. The Friels state that if you arent willing to put your foot down now and then, the sparks begin to die out. The only two types of people who want to be in a relationship with a victim are either another victim or a perpetrator. Healthy people dont like the manipulation and martyrdom that go with the victim role. Adults dont like to be in a relationship with no resistance. It doesnt feel good. It doesnt have any energy in it. It feels stale. When a relationship has an element of riskknowing that your partner may choose to leaveyou are less likely to take the relationship for granted and to get complacent. If you make the relationship too safe for your partner, he or she may become bored or stagnant. If you and your spouse are both on your toes, you will be motivated to put more effort into the relationship. Theres a big difference, say the Friels, between choosing to stay in the marriage versus being desperate to stay. When a spouse is desperate to stay in the marriage, he or she will be too scared to go to the brink. There are risks in going to the brink, write the Friels, but the risks of not doing so are worse. Of course you need to take your time and think through the issues before taking a premature stand that youll back down from. But taking a stand at an appropriate time in an appropriate, thoughtful manner could make all the difference in the quality of your marriage. Am I advocating that you jump into divorce? Far from it. Many situations can be handled while a couple is still living together, once the energies of both partners are focused on solving the problems. In other cases, the possibility of a marital separation may be needed to fully get the spouses complete attention. In The Seven Best Things (Happy) Couples Do, the authors give an example of an appropriate way to deliver the news when a serious problem is involved, such as alcohol abuse or severe depression: I love you more than anything else in the world. And, if you dont get some help for this problem, I will have to move out, or ask you to move out, unless you do get help, because Im not willing to sit idly by and watch you go under. Being able to take a calculated risk can stir the pot when change is direly needed. You dont want your marriage to die out with a whimper or to be dull and lifeless. Only you can answer the question, Is it time to snap out of complacency and take action? For readers who want a powerful book on how to have a truly great relationship, I highly recommend The Seven Best Things (Happy) Couples Do by John C. Friel, Ph.D. and Linda D. Friel, M.A. Nancy J. By Carl Brown 6 Secrets to Stellar Sales Presentations Every sale is won or lost in the presentation. Regardless of product, industry, or market every sale has the same basic components: A prospect who wants a product, a product, and a sales person who will or will not help that customer buy. These 6 secrets will help you make presentations that build your customers understanding and excitement to a point where they will buy from you right now. The operative word in right now selling is VALUE if a customer sees the value of your product they are sold if they do not they wont buy. This 6-step process will give you the secrets to building value in a way that your customers react to over and over again. 1. Make a Big Fat Claim Every Presentation needs a Big Fat Claim (B.F.C.) when you start your presentation you should have an obvious value for your clients that makes them say well how do you do that. Your B.F.C. should hint at a solution to a real problem your customers have. Then the rest of the presentation backs up the claim. When Glasstree.com sells, websites in the retail space the Big Fat Claim is Never Pay for Website Updates Again! It focuses on the core benefit of the service and tells the client exactly what they can expect to get. 2. Tell em How Its Done Directly after presenting the big fat claim you have to back it up with a quick one or two sentence explanation of how you do what you claim. This will build your credibility and allows the customer to say: oh that makes sense or I never would have thought of that. This step of the presentation is to introduce the idea that makes the Big Fat Claim possible and actually takes it from a sensational idea to a reality. This step is the difference between hype and a solid sales presentation. Our How its Done is We have built a dynamic platform that, allows you to update the website for yourself eliminating the need to pay a web designer to make simple changes to your site. Here you go from the benefit to the customer to the feature that makes it possible. 3. Present Your Credentials This is the point where you shift gears, give a little background information on your company, and tell the 30-second story of how you got to where you are now. Tell people why you decided to sell what you sell. What were the motivating factors for you? I tell people I was in the industry for years, but when I saw this product I realized that there was no way I could compete with it as an individual so I got in contact with the creators and worked out a deal that allows me to share it with you. This little bit of personal information helps build trust and rapport 4. Ask Leading Questions Directly after telling your story you need to initiate a conversation that intertwines your product and the clients vision. Before you present list the top 10 benefits of your product then creating questions that dove tail into those benefits. As an example: Ask the question do you mail brochures or other information to out of town clients that request it?
